This 90-minute session focuses on tuning into awareness of the mind and body. It is about noticing how our bodies feel when we give it the time and freedom to be still and noticing what our minds tend to do when we invite it to focus on a task. We will begin with a brief gentle movement practice followed by a learning and journaling practice centered on awareness of self and our non-verbal communication habits. We will then engage in a body scan practice to deepen this new learning so you can take the feelings or clarity and awareness into your week.
What you will need:
A notebook, journal, or paper and pen for writing (journals are available for purchase at the studio).
Wear clothing that allows you to feel comfortable while moving, stretching, sitting and lying down.
Your own reusable water bottle (recommended).
Good to know:
This retreat session is offered in-person ONLY at the Untold Stories Studio in Pinawa, Manitoba.
No meditation skills or experience is required; however, we recommend that you consult your medical advisors before undertaking this movement and meditation session.
This session may involve sitting or lying on the floor or in a chair for a prolonged period of time. You should be able to get into and out of a seated or lying position without assistance.
